AC Milan are plotting £39m bid for Chelsea star - reports in Italy

AC MILAN are preparing a £39million summer bid for Chelsea midfielder Oscar, according to reports in Italy.

Oscar
Oscar has become a crucial player since Antonio Conte took charge at Stamford Bridge, starting five of the last six Premier League games.
However, Italian website CalcioMercatoWeb claims Conte is looking to shift the Blues into playing a 3-5-2 shape which could force the Brazilian out of his plans.
John Terry
The report says Milan are standing by with a huge £39m bid to bring the midfielder to the San Siro next summer.
The Serie A giants are hopeful their new-found wealth following their successful takeover by a Chinese consortium could tempt Oscar into making the move.
And Milan are also seeking a return to Champions League football for next season after a two-year absence from the competition.
The Italian club have been linked with a number of Premier League players in recent weeks, including Tottenham's Harry Kane and Manchester United's Memphis Depay.
Milan are in sixth place in Serie A this season after six games and trail league leaders and reigning champions Juventus by five points.

Chelsea star: This is how Antonio Conte should be playing me

CHELSEA playmaker Oscar would like Antonio Conte to stick with a 4-3-3 system.
The Blues beat Werder Bremen 4-2 during a pre-season friendly using the Brazilian's preferred formation.
However, Conte has also been experimenting with the 4-4-2/4-2-4 system in other fixtures, with Michy Batshuayi and Diego Costa in attack.
Oscar, 24, would rather play a 4-3-3 because he's given more freedom to push forward and link up with Eden Hazard and Costa.
“I think we have played better with the 4-3-3”
Oscar
He told CFC: "We (Costa, Hazard and Oscar) like to play together.
"Every time when we have the ball we come close together to try and link up and create something. This is good for the team and for us.
"We played much better than Werder Bremen, and we deserved to score more goals. We missed a lot of chances but it was good because the team created a lot.

FOCUS: Chelsea playmaker Oscar
"I think we have played better with the 4-3-3 than when we have played 4-2-4, but we have two formations and always we try our best.
"I like playing in a 4-3-3 because I can score more goals and also create more and tackle in midfield, which I like to do to help the team.
"I am feeling good. We are ready, and now we are all just looking forward to starting the season."

Can Chelsea bounce back this season?

After a dismal start to the season under Jose Mourinho last year, Chelsea’s defence of their title got off to one of the worst starts in recent seasons of the Premier League. It led to the sacking of the Portuguese ‘Special One’ and saw the 2014-15 PFA Player of the Year become invisible in the space of six months. Eden Hazard’s fall from grace and the subsequent falling apart of his team-mates was met with astonishment and amusement by many as Chelsea struggled to fight their way back into the top half of the table towards the end of the season. In tenth position they finished and with only 12 victories, they won almost half the amount of games as the champions, Leicester City. It was a season to forget for the Blues and this season will be even more important.

With the amount of quality in the squad, it was incredible how Chelsea could have flopped as badly as they did. But these things happen in football – although usually poor form does end at some stage – and after some extensive recovery work from stand-in manager, Guus Hiddink they managed to retrieve a season which almost ended in disaster. Relegation would’ve been unthinkable to most after watching Mourinho’s side lift the Premier League title the season previous. However, their recovery and the fact they’ve managed to keep many of their biggest stars, means they are in a good position to restart this season and could bounce back in the Premier League in 2017.
Chelsea’s collapse was largely down to what seemed like a complete breakdown in relationships between the manager and the players and that resonated in some of the player’s performances. Eden Hazard was last season’s Premier League star, Chelsea’s Player of the Year and a candidate for the Ballon D’or. However, his epic fall from the top seemed to seep through the rest of the squad and their confidence was drained. Injuries and a lack of form from their key players meant the Chelsea squad lacked identity, confidence and stability. John Terry, the club’s captain who played every minute of their title-winning campaign in 2014-15, found himself on the side-lines on too many occasions due to injury and Gary Cahill’s unstable performances meant Chelsea were often left open at the back – an area where they have been so solid for many seasons.
Their ‘park the bus’ methods were put on pressure due to an unstable defence and their creative attackers, Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa, Oscar and Eden Hazard were all performing below par at a time when Chelsea weren’t able to defend with confidence. There’s hope for the upcoming season though as all of Chelsea’s stars have a chance to revive themselves without expectation or the pressures of defending a title. John Terry will remain at Stamford Bridge for another season after being offered a one-year contract extension and his leadership will undoubtedly prove valuable for a team lacking in confidence.
Chelsea’s squad isn’t shy of ability and Hazard showed in flashes the dangers he can cause on a football pitch. He leads Belgium in this summer’s European Championships and although he is yet to set the world stage alight, his dominance in the side is still clear to see. Team-mates bounce off him and his ability to create chances out of nothing makes him an invaluable member of the Chelsea squad. Costa, who was one of the Premier League’s top goal-scorers during the 2014-15 season, hasn’t lost the ability to find the back of the net and if Chelsea’s midfield can find their rhythm again, he’ll put away chances created.
Fabregas was one of the outstanding performers for Chelsea during their title-winning season, creating more assists and more chances than many team put together in the Premier League. He has an eye for attacking runs and can put ball through the defence in areas where few players in the world can. He has already shown glimpses of his passing quality during the European Championships for Spain and he’ll be looking to recapture his glistening form of last season in the new year. One positive from Chelsea performances last year, was their Brazilian full-back Willian, who produced moments of class. His pace and willingness to push forward means Chelsea will always have a dangerous outlet out wide. Despite weak performances from the squad, it was largely due to the attacking nature of their full-backs that allowed them to get back into games last season.
The Chelsea squad may be an ageing one, but with Conte coming to Stamford Bridge, there’ll be a fresh look to the Blues team next season and the players still have the quality to trouble most defenders. If Hazard, Oscar, Costa and Fabregas can get firing again, Chelsea will no doubt be challenging at the top once more and you’d expect them to welcome Champions League football back to the club for the 2017-18 season.

Forget Oscar – Chelsea Should Look To Sign Any Of These 3 Super Replacements For Him

The former champions of England, Chelsea are looking to add more quality to their current squad as Antonio Conte takes charge of the club, prior to the start of the new club. The Italian manager has made it clear that he wants players whom he likes and prefers to play in the starting eleven. Some of the Blues current stars are not exactly happy due to this and could be heading for an exit from Stamford Bridge. One such player could be Brazilian midfielder Oscar.
The 24 year old attacking midfielder, who performed various roles at the club under Jose Mourinho is now keen on making a move away from west London. His form has dropped substantially in recent times and he found it tough to earn a place in the starting eleven on a regular basis in recent times under Guus Hiddink.
Oscar is unhappy at the club and had expressed his desire to leave, as per reports with owner Roman Abramovic ready to cash in on his midfield superstar. Serie A champions Juventus and Ligue 1 winners Paris Saint-Germain are clubs keen on signing him at the moment, though there would be several clubs across Europe interested in acquiring his services.
In case he leaves, here are three potential stars that the west London side can sign to replace him:
3. Alex Teixeira:
The former Shakhtar Donetsk man currently plays for Jiangsu Suning, which is a club in the Chinese Super League. He looks good and has represented Brazil at the U-15, U-17 and U-20 previously. He is 26 years old at present and could be a potential replacement for his compatriot this summer, as per speculations. Though he is naturally an attacking midfielder, what role Conte assigns him remains to be seen, if a move goes through. Money should really be a problem for the Blues and if the intention to sign him is there, surely a deal can be pushed through.

Oscar: The entire Chelsea team are out to impress new manager Antonio Conte

Chelsea midfielder Oscar has revealed the entire team will be out to impress the club's new manager Antonio Conte between now and the end of the season.
The reigning Premier League champions announced last week that Conte, who is currently in charge of the Italy national team, will take the helm at the club once this summer's European Championships in France come to an end.
With Chelsea out of all the Cup competitions, the Champions League and the Premier League title race, the team have little to play for until the end of the current campaign apart from pride.
But Oscar has insisted that he and his teammates are keeping their focus to ensure they put in positive performances in the remainder of the league games as Conte is certain to be watching on.
"I try to play my best for Chelsea but it’s not just me, the whole team will try to win games to impress the new coach ahead of next season," Oscar told Chelsea's official website.
"We have six games left this season. We played well against Swansea but we didn’t win and now we have to focus on the next match because it’s very important for us. It will be a good game against Manchester City."
Despite trying to end their season on a high, Chelsea succumbed to their first league defeat under Guus Hiddink at the weekend when Gylfi Sigurdsson's first-half goal handed Swansea City a 1-0 home victory over the Blues.
Hiddink's side now host Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday as they aim to break into the top 10 standings with a win.

Oscar: Chelsea players are now full of confidence

Oscar: Chelsea players are now full of confidence

The Brazil international feels the Blues have finally recovered from their poor start to the season and says they fully deserved their victory at St Mary's Stadium.
Chelsea midfielder Oscar says the team is full of confidence after a 2-1 Premier League victory at Southampton on Saturday.
Shane Long put the hosts ahead at St Mary's but Chelsea levelled the scores when Cesc Fabregas' cross went in and Branislav Ivanovic powered in a header to seal the victory.
Oscar said confidence levels are much higher at the club now compared to at the start of the season.
"Because we have started to win the games, the confidence comes now," the Brazil international told Sky Sports
"When you lose a lot of games, like at the start of the season, we don't have confidence.
"Now we play well, we start to win the games and every player has a lot of confidence.
"It's difficult because every season we play to win the titles and now we try to go up the table."
Oscar added that Chelsea bounced back after a poor start to the match, with Guus Hiddink's side coming from behind to win for the first time in the Premier League this season.
"I think everyone is very happy because today is a difficult game and we don't start the game well," he said.
"Southampton scored the first goal but we come to the second half and play well and score two goals.

"We have to control the game and [we made] one mistake, but you need to come to the second half and try to win the game.

Chelsea midfielder Oscar hails Southampton win

Chelsea midfielder Oscar was delighted with victory at Southampton.
The Blues came from a goal down to secure a 2-1 win at Southampton on Saturday despite the hosts making life extremely hard for the visitors with a solid defensive display.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Oscar said: "It is a good win. Southampton scored the first goal when we had control of the game but in the second half we played better.
"They defend so well and we needed to move the ball quicker. We spoke about that in the dressing room and we did move the ball quick in the second half.
"When we have started to win games, the confidence comes and the players are very confident now."
